Book report on Everest by Gordon Korman

Everest Contest

The book Everest by Gordon Korman is a story about kids trying to climb Mount Everest. Dominic and Perry are a part of a group of kids that want to be the youngest people to make it to the top of Everest.

The base camp was crowded on the first day. While choosing the kids for the team at base camp, somebody was sleep walking and knocking over the plates in the kitchen. Then, they did not have any plates to eat on. So, they just ate on towels.

While climbing on Everest, Perry lost hold of his rope and fell a quarter way down the mountain. Perry broke his ankle when he hit the bottom of the mountain. Then, they had to put the climb on hold until Perry's ankle was better.

I learned that climbing can be very dangerous if you are not well prepared. My opinion of this book is that climbers and people interested in climbing and mountains should definitely read this book.
