Baking a Delicious Cake

Let's Bake a Cake

Baking a cake is a lot of fun and requires very little effort.

First, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Recipe calls for

1 cup water

1/3 cup oil

2 eggs

Before doing anything you must preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Now we prep our ingredients and double check to make sure we have everything we need.

Some items you'll need are:

- Mixer

- Medium Mixing bowl

- Measuring cups

- 13 x 9" non-stick pan

- Pan Coating Spray (optional)

Crack 2 large eggs into a seperate bowl. It's best to do this before combining them with the other ingredients to prevent any egg shells from getting into the cake mix.

Carefully measure your 1/3 cup of oil. Any vegetable oil will do.

Measure 1 cup of water.

Add cake mix into medium size mixing bowl.

Now that we've prepared all the ingredients, we are now ready to begin cooking.

Combine all ingredients into medium size mixing bowl.

And now it's time to bust a MIX!!!

Gradually mix together all the ingredients making sure you don't leave any lumps. This part of the process is a lot of fun especially if you have keiki around to help clean up.

Spray the cake pan with a non-stick coating before pouring the mix in. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan.

Carefully pour cake mix into pan using a spatula or spoon to scrape off the sides of the mixing bowl.

With the oven already pre-heated to 350 degrees, you're ready to bake the cake. CAUTION: Use an oven mit or towel to put in and take out the cake.

TIMING IS CRUCIAL!!! So, set a timer to 35-38 minutes or to whatever size pan you are using.

Be sure to watch the time and check on the cake from time to time.

A great way to check if the cake is done is to insert a toothpick into the middle of the cake and pull it back out. If there's no cake mix on the toothpick when you pull it out, then your cake is done. If there is a little cake mix, then close the oven and continue to wait.

Once the timer goes off and you've check it with the toothpick technique, then it's time to remove it from the oven. BE SURE to turn the oven OFF upon removing the cake.

Let sit for about 10 minutes to cool down. Serve and enjoy!

GOOD LUCK!

Vaega,

Just kidding!
